Vukašin Gligorić, PhD

Political and Social Psychologist

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Psychology at New York University Abu Dhabi.

My research focuses on the relationship between psychological processes and the broader political, social, and economic systems in which they occur.

I am particularly interested in political ideology, belief systems, perceptions of social groups and scientists, and large-scale cross-national research extending psychological science beyond traditionally Western samples.

Research

My research examines political ideology and related belief systems, such as religious and conspiracy worldviews and perceptions of science and scientists, as well as intra- and intergroup relations, including stereotypes and prejudice.

I am particularly interested in how overarching societal structures, such as neocolonialism and neoliberalism, shape these psychological and social processes.

To address these questions, I draw on broader frameworks including world-systems theory, decoloniality, and neo-Marxist approaches, often through large-scale cross-country studies.
